AURGH. D8< IGNORE the pickles hair,this was supposed to be a color test for Detox--who i realized i'd never actually...drawn, really. Or not his 'fur' version, anyway. Pickles just kind of....took over while i was sketching. ._. These colors are mad bonkers, but Detox is...well... Detox, so i think it suits him in a weird way. whaatever, i'll go through every color combo till i find one that doesnt bug me. xD

seeing as my scanner's been... a cunt lately and i see no reason to try and tame photoshop, I came up with the idea of using my webcam to record videos of myself drawing, speed them up, and sync them to the song I used to draw them with. >_> Yeh, i'm weird--i find a song that fits the character, or the situation or whatever, and it helps me draw somehow. IDFK. its hard to explain. The best examples i can give are...like...when i draw vore i usually listen to Angelspit--when i draw Pickles i usually use moody, ambient shit like Massive Attack, Sigur Ros, Ladytron, and Ayria. That kind of thing.

yes, its stupid. but *i* think its nifty, and even though my cam sucks balls, they still came out relatively decent.

I took down all the other videos from back when i got my youtube account, because they were stupid.
I'm doing this for almost everything i draw now, i've decided. figured it'd be fun.

I am so addicted to tegaki. I think it may be the lack of layer concept that i just love--it helps me focus on tinkering and just having fun instead of stressing myself trying to create a masterpiece in as little time as possible. xD

this STARTED as vore, then i added the cigarette, then i thought of putting him on top of monsterkatzi, then a couch, then thin air---i'm a horribly indecisive individual. Most of my never-to-be-finished sketches end up like this. -_-

This one... has a reason. I took a nap just now and this character was in my dream. its not a guy and its not a chick--i was falling [yeah i have falling dreams] and it was walking on a ceiling or ...something. it grabbed me and stood me upright on peach-and-wheat colored paint splatters and spoke to me in the manner of a hecatonchires, saying its name was Jinx. [a hecatonchires is a greek mythology entity--they have 100 heads, fifty hands and feet, 100 eyes, and their voice/speech is made up of 1,000 different voices; some scream, some whisper, some young, some old...that kind of thing.]
Trippy dream was trippy, and i fucking love mythology refs in dreams so i felt Jinx deserved to be drawn. May do the fullbody i saw in the dream but... it might take me forever. It was an exceedingly complicated little bugger.

just fooling around. this will be a finished...thing at some point, but i'm trying to decide what to do about his face--since he usually always has his mask on.

toying with the idea of making him mute...in a way. Like, he wouldn't ever have a mouth, and just thinks instead of speaking.
that might get in the way of me doing any comics or interaction-based doodles of him though. Or maybe he could be magical and only posess the power of speech with his mask ON.
AUGH i don't know. I tinker with my characters too much. B|

Just something quick and relevant to this journal--since I removed [most of] the vore and gore that used to take up a SHIT ton of space on this LJ, I realized just how much of it there IS, however sketchy they are.

With no drive to slap them on my fA, and image hosting sites hating my guts [no pun intended], I've come up with a solution. I'm going to separate them from this journal but keep them on LJ galleries. That is to say, you won't see updates of them as a journal entry unless i feel particularly lazy--you'll have to click around to find them.

they'll be back up within two weeks--i have a lot of trades i just opened so i need to work on those first.

No doodles for you guys yet today, but this is relatively art-related;

I realized, after being given an oekaki link this morning, that I had some serious admin-ing to do at my own oekaki board--try to clean it up and bring it back from the dead and such.

Well.. apparently, as of September 1st, Kameloh has shut down OekakiArt.com. I still don't know why, but I suppose that's irrelevant.

Harunani's Rave is no more. Sorry, guys. :c I feel for the others who lost their boards as well, like Chipz and Rina and Mortem--we all put so much effort into launching and maintaining the boards; made a lot of chill pals--watched peoples art flourish and whatnot; its tough to see all that disappear. [for me especially, since Rainefall went under a few years back I've been fighting for a good board to call home. Rainefall-damn. Good times.<3]

It was fun while it lasted though. :D I'll probably head on over to my abandoned Side7 account and spam the oekaki there until I gather my digital skills again and then move along to other boards.

To my friends and others asunder who were part of the user collective at Harunani--thanks a bunch. We didn't go far, but MAN did we have fun. xD <3<3<3

[EDIT-July 19 2009] - holy shit I haven't been here in forever.. but i'm using it again... HOWEVER. Most of what you will see here on in will be JUST unrefined sketches that i may or may not complete. If i DO finish any of them...they will go on my fA, 'flamingporridge.'
Also, I have decided that for the time being, the gore and vore will stay here. I'm not ready to assign it to my secondary fA, Voniksopp. I'm not sure if i ever will---Most of my stuff of that nature is pencil and ballpoint sketches, because in some awfully strange way, they look better to me than my inked ones. ...and having a gallery full of what's really just scraps is a little stupid.

One of the artists I've admired for a while now is the reason I got into drawing sexytime shit. I met her on Y!gallery--her account was banned and i assumed it was for her vore/other questionable work.

And by "admired", I mean looked up to as much as I did Caitlin, who was --and still is--my muse; the sole reason i even gave two shits about keeping on doodling away....

Whatever you want to call her... she's a living, breathing lie. And I'm fit to be tied for believing in her.

I went through the people I watch on dA---as i'm staying, I wanted to clean up the list and get rid of the abandoned accounts--- and I came across one that made me squeal.

Emphatically, I clicked on it... only to find a MASSIVE comment-trolling chain about how Kia NEVER gave people their commissions after getting paid for them. This irked me, after reading that Kia owed a person up to $200 in commissions never received. Irked as i was, I read on.

In one of these comments, there was a link to the KeaLe page on Encyclopedia Dramatica. ENCYCLOPEDIA FUCKING DRAMATICA. AND "Artists Beware"--the art theft hotline of the internet. I clicked both.

...and was met with all the evidence for hating this girl I could possibly ask for. (granted, the article was OBVIOUSLY written by a VERY homobhobic and narrow-minded individual....but ignoring that, all the evidence was dead-on.)
She traced AND copied ALL of her work from highly respected artists--including EVERY. ONE. of her Kingdom Hearts pieces. all of the victims refuse to accept their images as payment; over half are taking legal action.

Now ...i'm logical. I figured people were just hating on her for drawing erotica.

but if you IGNORE the small-minded person's beliefs and insults, all the hard facts about Kia add up-----its the truth.

They even have screenshots of all the victims of theft bantering with her on dA and Y!. They have "real artist"/"KeaLe" art shots. Like, Her picture vs. the ORIGINAL.

I could've cried. But I opted instead do delete her as well, smoke a cigarette, and forget the inspiration I got from her "art".

Good luck, Kia, whatever you're doing now. I hope you get all the comeback-karma you can shove in that ill-contrived ego of yours.
